WEIMA E.200 can de-moising press

  • Ideal for tins and bottles
  • Resistant to contaminants
  • Extremely easy maintenance
  • Minimal wear
  • Less prone to wear than screw compressors
  • For 200 mm diameter moulded parts

The WEIMA E.200 dewatering press offers a cost-effective entry point into professional dewatering technology. This compact, electro-hydraulic machine produces bales with a diameter of 200 mm and reliably separates liquids from packaging and materials.

The material is fed manually via a curved feed hopper and compressed by hydraulic cylinders. Extracted liquids or pastes are collected in a sump and can be discharged via a separate pump. This allows the contents of packaging to be cleanly separated and the volume significantly reduced.

The E.200 is particularly suitable for beverage can and PET bottle filling plants, breweries, and companies wishing to compact filled or empty packaging. It can be operated as an integrated system or as a stand-alone solution and offers clear advantages over screw compactors in terms of robustness, maintenance requirements and cost-effectiveness.

Product features

Hassle-free automatic operation thanks to sensors in the hopper

Level sensors in the feed hopper enable the press to operate automatically. As soon as a defined material level is reached, the machine starts up automatically. If the level falls below a specified minimum, the system automatically switches to standby mode to prevent unnecessary wear and tear on the components.

Increased discharge height of the pellets for flexible discharge into containers

The angled discharge chute allows the moulded products to be ejected at a higher angle, enabling them to fall directly into a large container or a tipping trough. This eliminates the need for an additional conveyor belt. Depending on the space requirements, the discharge chute is available in a straight version or with an angle to the left or right.

Easy access for cleaning and maintenance thanks to flexible installation options and a maintenance hatch

Thanks to their lockable castors, the E-series machines can be positioned flexibly during operation. This ensures optimal access for maintenance and cleaning work. In addition, an integrated maintenance and cleaning flap on the hopper provides easy and direct access to the interior of the machine.

Robust hydraulic system designed to withstand contaminants and foreign matter

The key components of the hydraulic unit have been deliberately oversized to ensure that sufficient power reserves are available even under full load. Among other things, this reduces heat build-up during operation whilst also increasing the machine’s resistance to contaminants.

For greater durability

Our focus is on maximum durability. That is why all machines in the E-Series are made from high-quality stainless steel. This ensures high durability, reduces maintenance requirements and, at the same time, meets the hygiene standards of sensitive production environments.

Flexible positioning thanks to lockable castors

For particularly flexible use in the workplace, the compact E-Series presses are fitted with braked castors and can be easily moved to the required location. Once there, they can be put into operation immediately. Thanks to their IP65-rated design, they can also be used outdoors on a temporary basis if required.

Collection and controlled drainage of liquids via the sump

The drip tray integrated beneath the press reliably collects any liquids that escape during the pressing process. Depending on the installation layout, these liquids can be channelled directly into a floor drain or pumped out or diverted via a hose fitted with a milk pipe coupling.

Maximum safety during filling thanks to the curved funnel design

The curved feed hopper ensures that cans or other materials cannot escape from the machine during the pressing process due to the high pressing forces. At the same time, the curved design facilitates easy cleaning and reduces the risk of squeezed-out liquids spurting uncontrollably from the feed opening. The E.200 is also available with two alternative hopper designs.

Quick parameter adjustment via Siemens PLC

Parameters such as pressing time and pressing force can be adjusted quickly and intuitively via the colour display of the integrated PLC control system. The post-pressing function can also be set with ease. The programmable holding time is particularly important when pressing absorbent materials, as it ensures adequate drainage and produces moulded parts that retain their shape over time.

Using oil cooling with a heat exchanger

To compensate for temperature fluctuations in the hydraulic oil, the E-series machines are equipped with a water-cooling system based on the heat exchanger principle. This ensures consistent operating conditions and enables long running times without breakdowns. The heat exchanger is integrated into the hydraulic housing, where it is protected and reliably shielded from contamination.

How WEIMA’s E.200 dewatering presses work
This compact packaging baler makes it possible to open filled single-use packaging in a single operation, separate liquids or contents from the packaging, and directly compress the remaining material. Whether it’s tins, PET bottles, flexible packaging, beverage cans, cream spray cans, Tetra Paks, wet wipes, or hygiene and cosmetic products – a wide variety of packaging types can be efficiently drained, separated and simultaneously reduced in volume. The result: clean material separation, significantly reduced disposal volumes and optimised operational processes.

E.200 in action at Rhodius: Three WEIMA dewatering presses compact aluminium cans
We demonstrate the practical application of three WEIMA E.200 dewatering presses at the German contract bottler Rhodius. The machines are integrated directly into the production line, where they dewater and compact beverage cans that are generated as production waste at various stages of the process. The E.200 opens the filled cans, reliably separates the liquid from the packaging, and compresses the remaining material into compact bales. This significantly reduces volume and weight, lowers disposal costs and optimally prepares valuable recyclable materials. A practical example of efficient waste management and sustainable process integration in the drinks industry.

The WEIMA E.200 compacts tins, PET bottles and labels
In this material testing video, we demonstrate the performance of the WEIMA E.200 dewatering press in practical use. Various materials are tested, including drinks cans, PET bottles and wet labels. The E.200 reliably opens, dewatered and compacts the materials in a single operation. In the process, liquids are effectively separated and the remaining waste is processed into compact, dimensionally stable bales. The result is a significant reduction in volume, clean material separation and efficient preparation for recycling or disposal.

Drying and compacting water bottles into briquettes | WEIMA E.200
See how the WEIMA E.200 dewatering press efficiently drains water bottles and compresses them into compact discs. Whether full or empty bottles – entire packs can be fed directly into the machine, which takes care of the rest automatically. The E.200 reliably separates the liquid from the packaging material and significantly reduces the volume of the bottles. The clean separation of materials makes recycling much easier and optimises the handling of rejects or faulty batches from a cost perspective.

Drink carton dewatering using a WEIMA E.200 packaging press
In this video, we demonstrate the dewatering of filled juice cartons using the WEIMA E.200 packaging baler. The composite packaging is still filled with juice and is opened, emptied and then compacted in a single operation. The E.200 reliably separates the liquid from the packaging material and significantly reduces the volume of the remaining waste. The squeezed-out material is processed into compact bales, whilst the liquid is drained off in a controlled manner. The result: clean material separation, lower disposal costs and efficient preparation for recycling or recovery processes – ideal for bottlers, waste management companies and recycling facilities.
