The WEIMA TH 1500 briquetting press is a high-performance industrial machine designed to compact large quantities of loose production waste. Materials such as wood shavings, grinding dust, biomass, paper or metal shavings are compressed into highly compacted, dimensionally stable briquettes. This significantly reduces the volume of the material, making it easier to store, transport and recycle the waste.
High-pressure hydraulic compaction within a closed die produces particularly dense briquettes – without the need for any additional binding agents. The robust construction, precise control and high throughput make the TH 1500 a reliable solution for continuous use in industry and recycling, and enable easy integration into existing production processes.
In the following sections, you can find out more about the technical specifications, functions and applications.

Intuitive operation with a swivel touch panel
Maximum flexibility. To enable quick parameter adjustments (e.g. briquette length, number of briquettes per minute, density, etc.) during material changes, the large TP 600 touch panel with Siemens S7 PLC control can be swivelled in many directions and operated ergonomically. It also displays various processes taking place within the machine. To ensure that the electronics are optimally tailored to the machine, we design, build and wire our control cabinets entirely in-house. In doing so, we use only high-quality branded components – for example, from Siemens, Allen Bradley or Rittal.

Reliable multi-shift operation thanks to a large Bosch Rexroth hydraulic oil tank with integrated cooling system
The separate oil tank of the Bosch Rexroth hydraulic power unit has a capacity of approximately 1,000 litres and is fitted with an efficient oil cooling system. Thanks to this large volume, the quality of the hydraulic oil can be maintained at a very high standard for a long time – making it ideal for use in multi-shift operations.

Low wear and tear, easy maintenance thanks to chrome-plated and hardened dies and replaceable press plates
The movable die, in which the final briquette is formed, is subject to increased wear and tear. For this reason, it is made of hardened steel and is also chrome-plated. The press plate located next to it can be replaced in just a few simple steps once it has worn out. This ensures that the process runs smoothly.

Prevention of material bridging through a gimbal-suspended screw conveyor
To prevent mechanical damage, the screw conveyor located at the bottom of the feed hopper is suspended from a robust universal joint. It transports a specific quantity of material into the compression chamber, where pre-compaction takes place. This reduces the compression time, resulting in a higher briquetting output.

Highly compressed briquettes of the highest quality for industrial use
All WEIMA briquettes are characterised by their dimensionally stable compression. The use of die technology enables even better compaction and volume reduction compared to a press pliers. Depending on the application, the briquettes are so dense that they even sink in water. They therefore have a density >1 (e.g. aluminium has a density of approx. 2.3 – other metals significantly more). This makes briquettes from the TH Industrie series ideal for subsequent marketing. Their rectangular shape also makes them easy to handle, as they can be stacked for transport.

Modern machine design incorporating die technology for maximum throughput
The use of a closed die to compact loose chips, dust or shredded materials, in combination with a high-performance hydraulic unit, results in extremely high briquette densities. Machines in the TH Industrie series are state-of-the-art and extremely robustly constructed. Depending on the specific material, the throughput capacity is up to 700 kg/hr (TH 1500).

Easy integration into production lines or as a stand-alone solution
Extensive connectivity: WEIMA briquetting presses are equipped with all standard interfaces to ensure rapid integration into new or existing production lines. Machines in the TH Industrie series can operate autonomously across multiple shifts in automatic mode. Production parameters can be flexibly adjusted, for example when changing materials.

Two container options for different filling requirements
Depending on your requirements, you can choose between a large-capacity feed hopper for flexible filling using a forklift truck or a lift-and-tilt device, or a compact material buffer (chip turner) for continuous, usually automated filling, whereby the material falls directly into the screw conveyor channel. Both hopper systems can be fitted with a practical level sensor, which safely switches the machine to standby mode when it is idle until new loose material is fed in again.

Rectangular briquettes for sale or personal use
The TH 1500 produces rectangular briquettes measuring 150 x 60 mm. The length of the briquettes can be adjusted as required. No binding agents or adhesives are used for compaction; only hydraulic pressure is applied.
