The WEIMA W8.20 PowerLine is a high-performance industrial single-shaft shredder designed for continuous waste shredding in large-scale recycling processes, particularly for the preparation of materials for the production of substitute fuels. Within the PowerLine series, this model is positioned as a proven all-round machine and is frequently used in industrial recycling plants with consistently high throughput requirements. The shredder reliably processes mixed waste, commercial and industrial waste, as well as high-calorific material streams from pre-treatment.
Design features such as the solid rotor, replaceable cutting tools and flexibly adjustable screens ensure reproducible particle sizes and stable processes. For EBS manufacturers, this results in clear added value in the form of consistent material quality and high plant availability. The balanced combination of performance, flexibility and investment security makes the W8.20 a central component of modern recycling solutions.
Below you will find an overview of the technical design, possible applications and available options for this proven single-shaft shredder.

High throughput thanks to flexibly adjustable process parameters
High material throughput with varying requirements calls for precise process control. The PLC control system with touchscreen display allows the rotor speed and slide movement to be adjusted to suit the material being processed. This ensures a stable shredding process and makes optimum use of the plant’s capacity.

Consistent shredding quality thanks to precise control of the cutting gap
The counter blades can be adjusted from the outside using a screw mechanism and are easy to turn over when worn. The robust cutting gap system ensures that the material is shredded evenly, resulting in consistent particle sizes and minimal rework in the downstream process.

Continuous material feed via load-dependent slide technology
A consistent feed rate improves process reliability. The load-dependent swing gate automatically adjusts its movement to the load on the rotor. This prevents blockages and maintains a stable throughput even with non-uniform material.

High plant availability thanks to a centralised lubrication system
Reduced maintenance intervals increase machine uptime. The central lubrication system continuously supplies all relevant bearing points. This reduces the need for manual maintenance and supports reliable continuous operation.

Long service life thanks to the solid PowerLine rotor
Due to its high, solid weight, the PowerLine rotor requires less torque for shredding. Wear protection against increased wear is available as a solid shell or in the form of welded seams. Creusabro® rotor shields fitted to the sides also provide protection against abrasive material flows. The shaft journals are bolted on both sides. Cutting blades in sizes 60, 80 and 100 mm can be selected as required.

Operational reliability thanks to sturdy, adjustable heavy-duty feet
A stable machine base is essential for precise operation. The levelling heavy-duty feet ensure secure positioning even on uneven surfaces. This reduces vibrations and protects mechanical components during continuous operation.

Optimal power adjustment thanks to selectable drive systems
The choice is yours: our PowerLine shredders can be fitted with a Hägglunds hydraulic drive, a high-torque drive from Baumüller, or a conventional electromechanical drive. Which one is right for you always depends on your specific application.

Seamless line integration through standardised interfaces
Extensive connectivity: WEIMA shredders are equipped with all standard interfaces to ensure rapid integration into existing production lines. Thousands of system solutions developed in collaboration with plant engineering partners worldwide speak for themselves. The raised base frame provides ample space for all standard conveyor belts – perfect for the removal of shredded material.

Flexible output adjustment through quick screen changes
All PowerLine shredders are fitted with a screen basket that swings upwards, onto which the screen segments are bolted. They can be changed quickly and are protected against wear. With secondary shredders, a particle size of 30–150 mm can be achieved.

Reduced maintenance requirements thanks to a hydraulic inspection hatch
Short maintenance intervals increase system availability. Inspection hatches that open hydraulically on both sides allow direct access to the rotor and cutting chamber. This enables maintenance work to be carried out efficiently and safely.
